The former Bonaventure Resort & Spa, built in the 1980s in Weston near Fort Lauderdale, has undergone a $100-million renovation and now is known as the Hyatt Regency Bonaventure Conference Center & Spa.
Remodeling of the 501-room resort is expected to wrap up by this month, says general manager Fred Euler, a 30-year Hyatt executive.
Among its new amenities: 100,000 square feet of indoor and outdoor conference space that includes a business amphitheater; a new formal fine dining restaurant called Ireland's Steakhouse; and the first Red Door destination spa in the Elizabeth Arden company's 100-year history.
The hotel has 111 suites, all with British Colonial-style furnishings; bathrooms with bidets as well as separate showers and baths; kitchenettes; balconies or patios, many with views of two PGA golf courses at Bonaventure Country Club; five pools, including outdoor cabanas and a bar and grill; and access to the nearby Weston Tennis Center.
Room prices start at about $295 a night during winter months and $150 off-season.
The 48,000-sq.-ft. spa has 30 treatment rooms, a Zen garden, a Pilates studio, a fitness and weight room and a sauna and steam room.
